Lest we forget
Thank you The Bank. I will never say a bad word against you again.
Random Rambling – Randling if you like
Spotted this on my way into work today – Vodafone have used the pavements of London for marketing, but instead of sticking vinyls down they’ve simply put a stencil in place and cleaned up the pavement to reveal their message. Pretty sure it’s not an original idea but it’s clever – they probably don’t need to seek permission from the local authorities to do this, thus circumventing a bit of red tape.
Cover To Cover is the brainchild of two well known music obsessives, Sean Rowley (Guilty Pleasures) and Christian Laing (Buttoned Down Disco). Seperately they have already established themselves as widely respected DJs playing to crowds of thousands on a regular basis.
I love a good cover. There's something about hearing a song I know well given a completely different spin by another artist. This monthly party, held on the first Friday of every month should be a good'un.
Cover To Cover takes place at Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch, London.
Ah, the obligatory Olympic stamp. Royal Mail will be releasing three sets, the first of which will go on sale on 22 October. The other two will follow in 2010 and 2012.
After spotting this warning sign that had clearly dropped from a passing truck (or possibly a train) and landed on Tooley Street in Central London I thought I’d check to see if radioactive materials often passed near my commute. I found my way to Greenpeace’s website and found this rather disturbing map of “Nuclear Britain”.

There’s no regular movement of waste through this part of London, but it does go to show. Might have to buy a Geiger Counter.
