Horsing Around

Horse-boy-google-street-view

Have you seen Horse-Boy (as he has been obviously and affectionately dubbed)? This guy must have had insider information on when the Street View car was going to be passing – that or he just goes around with a horses head on. I hope it’s the latter. See him on Google Street View.

Google Reader's Mobile Tweak

It seems that Google have mildly changed the interface on their Reader Mobile app. We now have icon-based buttons for "refresh" and a less obvious one to reveal a slew of options that used to be text-based links. All in all it give users a slightly larger area for their content, which is good.

When in Chrome...

Google are advertising their Chrome browser on the front of the Metro (a free, London-based newspaper). When Chrome was initially released their marketing for the browser was squarely aimed at the technically minded; speaking, in a developer's tongue, of it's Javascript engine, isolated processes for tabs and many more techy features.

Well it seems they are now going for the common man in a big way, with newspaper ads and large format poster advertisements. Guess this mean we will definately have to start testing our sites in this, admittedly, brilliant browser.

Google have made some small yet significant changes to their map rendering engine that has vastly improved the readability of the information in place on them. Take a look at their blog post for all the details. It’s great to see them continuing to improve this great tool.
